New signage at the library

As appeared in the June 2024 edition of the Grapevine

If you have visited the local Greytown library lately you will have seen our new branding proudly displayed.  The reason it is called the Greytown Lands Trust Library is because back in 2005 the Trust granted $500,000 towards the restoration and refurbishment of the Greytown Town Hall.  This was a significant project for the town which the Trust was pleased to support along with a large number of other very generous donors.  There is a signboard located just inside the Town Hall that displays the names of individuals and groups that contributed.   Have a look next time you are passing.

Our Trust building at 124 Main Street has also had some fresh new signage installed making it easier for people to find us.

Community Funding 2024

As part of our community distribution programme this year, the Trust’s community funding round for 2024 is now open with a closing date of 5pm on Monday 15 July.

Applications are being sought for community activities or projects that deliver a community-wide benefit to the Greytown district in the areas of “social, cultural and environmental well-being”.  This year we have $22,000 of funding allocated for this category.

Local community groups, incorporated societies and registered charities who currently operate within the Trust’s defined geographical boundaries being the Greytown District Electoral Ward may apply.

Applicants must be able to clearly demonstrate how the activity they are seeking funding for will benefit the Greytown community.  Applications must not be for an individual.

To apply visit our new website or come in and see us at 124 Main Street for a printed copy of the application form

Greytown Festival of Christmas

The excitement is ramping up for the annual Greytown Festival of Christmas and this year we are proud to be a major sponsor of this event.  We look forward to being part of this magical event that brings a great amount of joy, vibrancy and sense of pride to our town and can’t wait to see what delightful creations our local tamariki come up with to decorate the Greytown Lands Trust Community Christmas Tree which will be up from 29 June until 28 July in the centre of town.
