Tertiary Scholarship recipients for 2025 announced
This year we introduced a tertiary education scholarship programme and recently sought registrations of interest. To be eligible applicants had to be a Greytown resident or if living outside of Greytown while studying have a current Greytown registered address to call home. Applicants also had to be going into their second or further year of tertiary study in 2025 and confident of obtaining good academic results for the current academic year.
Following the registration process, applicants were invited to submit an application for further consideration after which a number of students were shortlisted for an interview.
We were pleasantly surprised at the number and quality of applications received.
We are pleased to announce that the two scholarship recipients for 2025 are Amelia Morison and Flynn Register. These two students submitted impressive applications and showed their focus, energy and drive to Trustees along with other strong personal qualities.
Amelia is currently studying at Victoria University for a bachelor’s degree in Science, majoring in Psychology and Human Resource Management and Employment relations. Flynn is studying towards a Bachelors of Chemical and Process Engineering (Honours) at Canterbury University. Both will be in their third year of study in 2025.
Amelia and Flynn will each receive $5,000 towards their 2025 academic studies. To make a substantial difference to help them in their academic journey, the Trust will award a further $5,000 in 2026 for their continued tertiary studies.
Congratulations Amelia and Flynn! We look forward to following your academic progress and seeing you report your achievements back to the community.
Our thanks to all those students who applied for our scholarships – we know we have a tremendous amount of talent in Greytown that we can be proud of. We wish all the students every success in their studies for 2025.
